Samjiyon Airport (IATA: YJS, ICAO: ZKSE) is located near Samjiyon County in Ryanggang Province, in the far north of North Korea close to the Chinese border and Mount Paektu — a sacred mountain in Korean culture. Reconstructed and modernized as part of the Samjiyon redevelopment project, the airport primarily serves domestic flights from Pyongyang and supports tourism to Mount Paektu, one of the country's most important cultural and historical sites.
